The Association Montessori Internationale affiliates training centres throughout the world. These centres offer AMI diploma courses that are recognised internationally for their quality and authenticity.
To educate toddlers between 3-6 years of age, AMI Training Centres offer the following internationally certified course:
Primary Montessori Teacher (3-6)
An in-depth study of Montessori pedagogy focusing on the developmental needs of children from three to six years of age.The Early Years Educator [EYE] qualification is fully integrated into the AMI Diploma Course.
The purpose of the AMI 3-6 course is to study, in depth, Montessori pedagogy and practices for the child between 3 and 6 years of age.
The course covers:
- Montessori Child Psychology and Child Development
- Montessori Educational Theory and Practice to include the role of the Montessori teacher and the preparation of the Montessori environment
- Observation and Teaching practice in schools run by AMI trained Montessori teachers
At least 400 hours of classroom-based training including lectures, a minimum of 140 hours of supervised practice with Montessori materials and 170 hours of observation and teaching practicum in Montessori settings.
